The Farnham Castle Team celebrate their long-standing Team Member, Paul Schofield

Last week, the Team at Farnham Castle gathered together to celebrate a very special occasion. Paul Schofield, known to his colleagues as ‘Scoffy’, reached an employment milestone of having worked at Farnham Castle for 30 years. An incredible achievement, and one which demonstrates his loyalty, alongside his well-regarded attitude to work and his professionalism.

Paul, has worked as a Gardener and Groundsman, for Farnham Castle, for the past three decades, and has a huge passion for all things green and beautiful. Whether he’s pruning the borders, mowing our lawns, or growing vegetables for our Kitchen Garden, Paul always has a smile on his face, and is always ready to lend a hand and go above and beyond for the team here. He’s definitely a favourite for staff and guests alike, and thanks to Paul’s attention and care, we have been able to host the most beautiful Outdoor Weddings and Summer Parties, in the Castle grounds, this year.

There must be something about working at Farnham Castle, as Paul is not the only long-standing member of staff. In October 2020, the Castle recognised Ted Milam, who celebrated 50 Years of employment, and Ted was only too happy to help celebrate Paul’s achievement, by telling stories of when the two had first met, many years ago…
