It’s the time of year when the nights are getting darker, the weather is getting colder and dates are being snapped up for Christmas Parties, Weddings and exciting Celebrations for the end of 2022 and in to the New Year. This month, we’re sharing our top advice on how to style the next event you plan on hosting; from décor to fashion, and more.
STYLE YOUR EVENT
Having helped plan so many Charity Balls, Gala Dinners, Proms and Corporate Events in the past, we understand how important it is to impress your guests from the very first moment they arrive, as this does set expectations. First impressions always count, but styling should continue to flow as your event is unveiled; from wow-factor décor to your menu and drinks choices, from entertainment themes to spectacular lighting, and not forgetting to ensure you have some surprises for your guests. We’ve seen trends for décor and theming, this year, that have included ‘bringing the outside in’ – lots of greenery, and sustainable décor, with reusability being of paramount importance. The top colour combination for Christmas décor this year is blue and white, so think ice cool and sparkle!
STYLE YOUR WEDDING
If you’re newly engaged, your wedding plans will all fall in to place once you’ve found your dream venue. You’ll start to envisage the style of your day; from where your ceremony will take place (indoors or outdoors), to the style of dining you prefer and the location for your evening celebrations. The style of venue you choose will have an impact on your wedding style, the florist you’ll commission to decorate your venue, and the energy and mood you want to create. Think about the natural charm and character that your venue offers, your colour palette – soft greens are making a big impact this season, as are Ombré Tones – and also plan the scale and intensity of your décor. Consider a rustic or vintage theme, and go with your heart. It’s your day, and your family and friends will want and expect the day to represent your personalities, and your imaginations.
STYLE YOURSELF
Receiving an invitation to a party is always a great excuse to go out and buy a new outfit. Think about the season and time of your event. What will you be doing? Think about your footwear – for the dance floor of course! This season, fuscia pink is the bold and lively colour that’s trending for party wear – add sequins and feathers, bold shapes and some patent leather! Fun-loving looks for ‘big nights out’ are never out of style, and for men, the classic tie is having a revival for both smart and casual wear – so ‘one tie fits all’! If you’re the host, certainly don’t hold back with your fashion choices. Look as great as you’ll feel on the night. It is a party after all.
