Married at First Sight 2024 wedding venue - Farnham Castle

Farnham Castle, Surrey’s premier Castle Wedding Venue has been chosen to feature on the hit reality TV Show ‘Married at First Sight UK’. This iconic and exclusive venue with stunning historic buildings, beautiful grounds, offering exceptional dining experiences and guest accommodation, provided the perfect setting for more than one incredible wedding, and the perfect backdrop for filming.

Making the decision to marry your partner and commit forever, is no mean feat. The build up to a wedding, the fun, the excitement, and sometimes the nerves are all part and parcel of wedding planning. ‘Married at First Sight’ experiments by matching singletons looking to marry. The wedding planning aspect is taken in to hand by the MAFS team, and the couple set eyes on each other for the very first time, at the end of the aisle, on their wedding day. ‘Married at First Sight’ follows the couple’s journey from the start of their relationship and as love or drama unfolds.

As the summer of 2023 came to an end, Farnham Castle was approached with an exciting opportunity. The ‘Married at First Sight UK’ team were tasked with selecting ‘incredible venues’ for their 2024 production, and after months of communication, visits, and preparations to ensure that the right venue was found, several couples in Season 9 of ‘Married at First Sight UK’, were lucky enough to have our dream Castle Venue in Surrey, chosen for them by the MAFS team.

‘Married at First Sight’ Season 9, was launched on the evening of September 16th, 2024, and our impressive backdrop set the perfect scene. Our Lantern Hall, Winchester Suite and Great Hall all showcased ceremonies and wedding breakfasts for the newlywed couples, their families, and guests.

Our historic grounds and Castle Keep are the icing on the cake.

Season 9, Episode 1 – Emma & Caspar

Farnham Castle’s bright and beautiful Lantern Hall set the stage for Emma and Caspar’s emotional wedding ceremony, which featured stunning pastel coloured floral pedestals and décor. Their post-nuptial celebrations took place in our Magical Great Hall, with its historic mantlepiece as the iconic centrepiece.

The couple spent time getting to know each other throughout the episode, taking walks across our Great Lawn, and chatting together on a cosy sofa, by starlight, at the foot of our amazing ‘Fox’s Tower Steps’ in the shadow of the Bishop’s Palace.

Season 9, Episode 2 – Nathan & Lacey

Excited bride-to-be, Lacey, arrived to our Tudor Courtyard in a classic fairytale Horse and Carriage, after having prepared for her big moment in our Beaufort Suite. She walked down a show-stopping mirrored aisle in our fairy-lit Great Hall, to meet her Groom, Nathan, for the very first time.

The Wedding Breakfast was held in our elegant Winchester Suite, and the couple ended the night with a fun first dance with their closest friends and family.

Season 9 – Episode 4: Adam & Polly

Our Great Hall once again set the scene for the third MAFSUK wedding ceremony aired recently.

Adam met his bride-to-be, Polly, for the first time, in our stunning Great Hall. Our historic stained-glass windows were featured, as was our beautiful Great Hall mantlepiece.  We are so proud of our wonderful venue, and it looked magnificent as the couple were showered with confetti making their way back down the aisle.

Our light-filled Lantern Hall was decorated with gorgeous drapes and extravagant floral installations in hues of salmon, amber, coral, and tangerine, with an array of green foliage. The couple shared a kiss on our Great Lawn, with the spectacular view of Farnham as their backdrop.

Season 9 – Episode 5: Alex & Holly

Chemistry sparked between Alex and Holly right from the get-go.

Alex walked down the aisle in our elegant Winchester Suite, which was framed with stunning large white roses and dark green foliage. Holly and her father followed shortly behind, and there were smiles all round from their guests.

Once their ceremony was sealed with a kiss, the couple chatted and got to know each other in our historic Stone Hall, one of the oldest parts of the Bishop’s Palace, and then shared their wedding breakfast as husband and wife in our show-stopping Great Hall which was again dressed with wow-factor floral displays and décor.

Later in the evening, they headed up to our impressive Norman Keep, with amazing views over Farnham Park and the town. There, surrounded by candlelight, they chatted about their exciting future together.
